Yes! Thank you so much for posting this! Factions, while not perfect, is what I was expecting. And I'm strangely fine with this, because I love the new content!

Tell those that always threaten to "Unless Anet changes this, that, bla bla, I'm gonna boycott GW products!"

I think it's great that Factions is exactly what you want, as it is with no improvements or adjustments. However, please keep in mind, that these "ridiculous rants" that you refer to are from the same people who have made some of the suggestions that led to some of the wonderful aspects you enjoy in Factions. Not only that, but it is the "ridiculous rants" that lead to bug fixes and updates which greatly enhance game-play.
Sure, there are always going to be those whose comments are pretty useless rants screaming about this and that without giving a thorough analysis and explanation, but that will happen anywhere in relation to anything.
My point is, don't knock the complaints. Complaints are what will make the changes that you will appreciate down the road.

I am having a blast with factions. Granted I have only been able to play for a few hours because of a very hectic couple of weeks. However, I am having a lot of fun. I am playing a monk, now that i have a slot available for a monk. I am spending some time getting used to the spells and duties of a monk, I hope to be beneficial to my guild in the near future.

It's nice to see these threads, though they're always vastly outnumbered by the complaints. Not to say the complaints are never justified; they often are. Arena.net do read complaint threads and they do act on them. There's always room for improvement, but overall* I'm very pleased with how Factions has turned out. I can't play right now and it's horrible. I'm stuck conceptualizing builds and I can't try them out. The horror!
It's going to be very interesting to see how the new classes and skills affect the PvP metagame as people start to figure things out.

Yeah you'll always see more people complaining than lauding the game because those that are enjoying it are usually playing it!
Great job, A-Net. Throw another bag of hotpockets in that dark room where the coders live and whisper somethin adding an equivalent to Tombs or SF for Factions!!
Points of Awesomeness:
1. Archipelego - What a unique texture, so different and beautiful the way it catches and reflects the light, really happy I have a video card that renders it well.
2. The sound effect in Harvest Temple - I first noticed the effect on the last mob approaching Unwaking Waters, and thought my sound driver was takin a dump (WTH? Sounds like I'm underwater!). Fantastic effect!! Don't get me started on the mobs in Harvest Temple, I wish everything was this challenging.
3. Dragon's Throat/Altruum Ruins/Zos Shivros Channel - Strait up bare knuckles brawls rock hard!! Especially Zos Shivros aka 'Operation - Keep the nub with Strength and Honor alive!' (That was him casting that right? God I hope so.)
There's many other points, but it's time to play some more! GG's!!

The complaints that get on my nerves the most are the people that make Anet look like a bunch of lying crooks. Do you slanderers work for EA or Blizzard or something? How could you be so clueless?

Some of the overlapping patrols can make some of the areas ridiculously difficult but for the most part they did well. The AI has stepped up and is now more of a challenge. If you don't believe me wait until one of the Am Fah groups spikes you. I couldn't believe it the first time it happened. I was speechless. The new skins are awesome and they didn't screw up farming as bad as people make out. I really enjoy that aspect of the game and I'm glad to see I can still do it.

Ok first of all..., WoW is a WHOLE different game and some ppl just like gw better than WoW. A lot of people i know would definitely pay and monthly fee for gw, but Anet doesn't charge so doesn't mean that people that complain should quit this game. And for what I know, everyone complains about something in this game, so dont think they totally hate the game.
btw...this thread is based on your complaint of others in gw, so doesn't this make you a hypocrit for complaining that other people are whining?

How can you comment on a game you have not completed. That's the first rule of games reviewing - so put away your over enthusiastic praise and when you have finished then you are qualified to say how good or bad it is.
Silly boy.

instead of a smart alec answer i will give you a serious one.
way back in june 05 i had already had much more fun than the 50 dollar price of the game.
at that time (and others) i stated that it was a very enjoyable game and that i had already gotten my moneys worth and that anything else from then on was icing on the cake.
i am still enjoying it even though i havent been everywhere /done everything yet but have racked up 1000+ hours of fun.
so yes you can make a personal judgement of the game without finishing it.
and i expect issues to be fixed as time passes.
patience grasshopper

=] that's what I'm sayin.. think alot of the complaints have to do with the newbie island- a bad representation of what factions is like after the marketplace.. the jade sea looks absolutely awesome- explored the full luxon map and was impressed (I have a high end rig- the jade sea actually looks like jade).. check out those saltspray dragons and that fish boat in the middle you can actually climb into! I'm exploring all of the kurz right now- seems pretty gothic but nothing is lacking details.. really enjoying the game so far.. if anet wants to change anything- work on the beginning island missions and that landscape..

$50 for 6 months before another chapter is released. $8 a month. I don't think it is worth that, at all.

and how many of your other games last 6 months anyway?
there are plenty of sore gripe threads so why pollute a positive thread?
and why put the same garbage on more than one thread?

i wish i could agree but i don't. i expected much more things in factions and most of all, more options. were's that jewelery merchant? were's hair dyes/styles? storage space? trading system? new PVP maps (heros ascent players, u know what i mean)? the 12 ppl party? why so much bugs in pve missions? i would have much more questions but i'll leave it at that. for the 50$ i payd, i think i got ripped off.

no jewelry merchant was promised only that there would be an expected (non specipied) use for gems.
hair dyes/styles were said to be popular items which would be looked into.
trading is still in the works and was never promised by a certain date.
storage space may be those optional character slots which equal 2.25 storage bins each
the bugs will be swatted as it is a fresh game not a week old yet.
